THIS guy!!

(I'm pretending I haven't been absent without explanation - for now.)

So look who has been showing up on social media lately - with teases about an upcoming Christmas album (possibly) and even more exciting - a new Christmas song written by him! Steve Perry. :)

He is looking good, fit, trim, and in good spirits. I hope that means he keeps popping up when I am least expecting it, the photos always make me smile, no matter what mood I'm in.

In Hanford, his birthplace.

In his studio, the "love box."

He titled this one "Road trip to my city by the bay."

I still love that he has kept his gray hair, whether he keeps it short or lets it get shaggy - he's keeping it real! Cannot wait to hear his voice, THE Voice, once again,

Trying Hard Not to be a Fan Page But ..

When this pops up on your wrist unexpectedly and unbidden, you have to post it somewhere, right? Steve is getting ready for the release of his Christmas album and has signed more CDs because the others sold out. It is amazing what a fan base he still has after years and years of being out of the spotlight.

People have speculated on why that is so but my opinion is it's about the emotion he puts into his music. There are lyrics, but then there are lyrics sung by Steve Perry. His vocal ability is unmatched, and for many years Steve wasn't given the respect his voice and talent deserved. Thankfully, that has changed in recent years which is a great thing.

The Season is being released November 5th, and Steve is also doing a live chat on YouTube that day. Can't wait!

This year, Christmas Comes on November 5th!

I've been waiting for new music from Steve Perry, and a Christmas album is what I got. I will take it! It is being released on November 5th, but this is a peek, I'll Be Home For Christmas. Can't wait for the rest! The album is called "The Season"

Steve said: “I hope when people hear this record, they’re teleported in the same way I was when I recorded all these songs — I hope it brings them back to those golden moments with their loved ones and gives them that feeling of joy and connection and comfort that we all need so much.”

And “When I was recording vocals for ‘I’ll be Home For Christmas,’ as I was singing ‘please have snow and mistletoe and presents under the tree” … I was emotionally thrown into standing in my grandmother’s house staring through the door that I always hung mistletoe and then I saw her beautiful Christmas tree in front of her living room window,” he says. “I had to stop singing because it felt like I was really there — I was a bit stunned.

“Back home for Christmas is where everyone wants to be!”

Agreed, Steve. Thank you for sharing your voice with us again.

Startle me with music!

I'm Stumbling the other day (I may have to uninstall it again) and I come to this blog that looks kind of interesting, I'm skimming it, looking at the pictures and all of a sudden there is noise! Twang! Twang! It's the loud start of some sort of musical accompaniment for the blog. I can see it, read it, now I have background music too!

But here's the thing. I like music. But I may not like the music of the person whose blog I'm reading and I simply may not want to hear music right at that particular moment. They probably wouldn't like the music that I like either. Music is very subjective. But the point is, it is entirely possible that I might have found your blog quite interesting and or enjoyable -until the din started. I am aware that all I have to do is mute my sound, or slide around the page to find the little music player and click the music off. But I'm more likely to click on Stumble again and move on.

There have been a couple of blogs I've run into lately that startled me with their music, and I would just rather not, thank you. I am sure there are things people don't find attractive about my blog - too cluttered, the wrong colors, what are the flowers for? And that's fine, I know I can't please everyone. But the music takes it to a whole new level for me.

I don't know if I'm one of those persnickety people who doesn't like lots of things and am easily annoyed, so I'm asking. How do you feel about blogs with music? I've put up a poll. It's blue, right side bar.

If you want to know the truth - I am actually just trying to find out how neurotic I really am!
Play along, m'kay? Thanks.

** Edited to add - okay, the poll is not blue. I changed it. But there IS a poll.

Just amazing.

I follow all the blogs I do using Google reader. I don't usually read them right there, but if it says there are 42 posts to read, I don't go looking for 43 and 44. So it was with great surprise that I scrolled down to the bottom of my list of blogs last night, and discovered I had somehow managed to put a bunch of them into a folder! ??? I have no idea how.

But that is why Stimey had to email me to tell me I had won a Stimey luggage tag in her give-away - YAY ME!! - and why it is only tonight that I am commenting on some posts from Wednesday. How do I do things like that and not know it?

And the choice of blogs that were in the folder didn't even make sense. They didn't all fit into one category or anything. I had to drag them out of the folder and back up into the regular list which apparently doesn't alphabetize on it's own and now they are all out of order. I amaze me sometimes.

For the most part though, it's been a good week. Several people out on vacation at work so things were super busy which is always better than super slow. Plus I had a few issues I was able to resolve which not only made me feel good - it made me look good too. Always a good combination on the job.

Tired though, but it's a good kind of tired. Feel like I've accomplished things, and I rewarded myself with a mini-nap after work today. I managed about a half hour nap after finding a comfortable position on the couch, letting the cats sort things out while they jockeyed for position and finding something on TV I could sleep to. Nice. Just long enough to feel refreshed but not so long that I can't sleep tonight.

If you've gotten this far I'm sure you've realized absolutely nothing is going on here. At least with me. My daughter's boyfriend will be coming for the weekend but they can't stay here because he is allergic to cats. I am not offended by this - he can't help it. It's fine. Allergic I can handle - I would much rather he was allergic than be someone who feels the need to stomp their feet or throw their hats at my animals. That's weak. But when your body tells you you can't be near something - you have to pay attention. So I won't be seeing much of Dani this weekend.

Andy either actually, he's at Lollapalooza tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. He'll be home to sleep and shower and that's about it. He'll be home after I go to bed tonight and up before I wake up in the morning. I probably won't even see his wristband run by. That boy does love an event.

So here's to hoping I won't totally sit on my butt this weekend and do nothing, because God knows - there are always things to get done around here!
