From one day to the next

If you live in the Chicago area your whole life, or maybe for just a week - you understand quite clearly that the weather is ever changing. We tend to flip from one extreme to another in a matter of hours which will catch people unfamiliar with this place without the proper clothing or
with an umbrella when they need a parka.

Recently we've had some winter days like this -

and this ...

After a few days of freezing temps and windy gray skies we got this-

Brilliant blue skies

and this ....

Days so beautiful the trees are growing the snowballs FOR you!

And yeah. I just did a whole blog post about the weather, you wanna make something if it???

  1. I love that..trees growing snowballs.

I grew up in WI and spent many a *chilly* weekend in Chicago. I am cold just thinking about it. But then, I'm also still in 10 degree MI right now so that might have something to do with it. I can't wait for Spring.

  2. I'm so jealous that you caught that true blue sky. I saw it yesterday morning, and by the time I had the kids dressed to take a little photography trip, it was clouded over and flurrying again. Two to four inches for tonight. Blech. ;o)

  5. I just know that the weather that you get in Chicago, usually hits Detroit in 2 days. Stop sending snow to me!! Please. It makes it hard to drive to the bead store.....

  6. Laura - Spent a lot of time in Michigan when I was a kid, I seem to remember very similar weather! And I am SO waiting for warmer weather!

Molly - I don't usually have my camera with me - but it really was a brilliant blue. Yeah, more snow tonight. I am SO excited. NOT.

Jo - I do have some English ancestry - so that's where I get it from? Lol!

HSR - It IS crazy, but I could use some of that 72 degree crazy!

Liz - sorry but I can't stop the snow-Gods from liking you as much as they like me. AH - to be able to control the weather!

  7. We have very changeable weather too. The saying here in Nova Scotia is "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes!"

  8. Exactly! Today was cold but for a while the sun was out - and by the time I left work there was what felt like a gale force wind blowing!

  9. please tell me it is not against the blogger rules to post about the weather, because, honestly, it is really all I have to talk about lately...well, except for my trip to Stowe, but after that brief interruption, I got nothin'.

    :)

Until, that is, my trip to florida in 7 days....
