If it's not one ..

                      .. it's the other.

Aren't they handsome kitties?  Riley and Jake when they were kids.

Now, both have thyroid disorders and take meds.

Today it was confimed that Jakie has diabetes.  I go on Saturday to learn how to give her shots. This getting old crap is for the birds.  Even for them!

  1. My puppies are having the same issues. And yes it for the birds. Zoey has joint problems and tummy issues (fun stuff) My little boy Yagi has a hip issue that just started and is so much of a picky eater these days he could put a cat to shame. But you love them and do what you can to keep them happy. Cause they love us more than anyone ever could. They are worth it all.

    1. Oh my gosh I never knew what could happen with older animals I guess, when I was a kid we just had pets until they ran away or died. I don't remember vet visits or medications .. there may have been those things I guess, but I don't think so. Now - we do what we must, don't we?

  2. I think we get better with age. I'm sure the pets are enjoying not being pulled on by little kids and look forward to sitting in front of the heating vent and relax the day away.

I enjoy reading your blog, your like fine wine. Getting better with time.

  3. My cats are fairly young but this getting older business sure sucks for humans and animals. Why can't we regenerate and replace bits that don't work any more?
